Temple: Central Texas VA sends 25 to Houston

The Central Texas Veterans Health Care system is sending 25 staffers to Houston.
The team will provide relief to staffers at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.
“We our proud of our staff who have volunteered to assist the DeBakey VA Medical Center in their time of need after historic, unprecedented flooding that has devasted the city of Houston and surrounding areas,” said Dr. Olawale O. Fashina, acting director of the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System.
“I’d like to commend the DeBakey staff for their dedication to the Veterans in their care. We pray for their continued safety as well as for the safety for our staff who have volunteered to help provide much needed relief to the Houston VA.”
The team, which consists of eight ICU nurses, 10 acute care nurses, two LVNs, two sterile processing service technicians, three operating room technicians, and one radiology technician.
Other teams may be deployed as needed.
