Belton: Wife of shooting victim speaks out

The wife of 30-year-old Redrick Robinson describes the tragic moment leading up to her husband's death.
Redrick was found shot to death in his home early Saturday morning.
Tanesha Williams-Robinson said it was a normal Friday night for the couple who was trying to have a romantic evening together.
She says around 4 a.m. on Saturday there was a knock at the door.
Her husband had already fallen asleep so she went to answer it.
"I tried to look out the peephole. I see the top of his head. He was like Dre. He used a friend that we deal with every day," Tanesha said.
"I opened the door it wasn't him."
She says the man asked to use their phone.
Another man came from around the corner and she tried to shut the door.
But the two men forced their way into their home.
She and Redrick offered them everything they had in order to keep their children safe.
She says the men kept asking them the same question over and over.
"They just kept saying where is it at," Tanesha said.
"I'm looking at my husband trying to get them whatever they wanted."
When the men realized the couple did not have what they were looking for they told them to get on the ground.
Tanesha said her husband begged for their lives asking the intruders to spare them and take whatever they wanted.
But one of the men decided he wanted to do more.
"They said I'll leave your wife here with the kids, but you got to go," Tanesha said.
"They just shot him. They shot him down like a dog."
She says she wanted to stick by her husband and help him fight. But she realized he was gone.
"They took his life. They stole his life," she said.
"They took my husband's life."
She says the men then fled and when she was getting up she realized her 4-year-old son was standing right there.
"I see my four-year-old over his daddy just looking," she said.
"How long was my baby there? What did my baby see?"
"They took his life. They stole his life, they took my husband's life."
Tanesha says Redrick was a loving husband. He loved all 11 of his children.
He was goofy and hardworking and was Tanesha's best friend.
She says he was living his life the right way and staying out of trouble.
"I will miss everything about him.
"I love that man from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet."
