Uber driver from Nolanville reported missing in Austin-area found dead, family says

NOLANVILLE, Texas (KWTX) - UPDATE: Ernest Anderson, an Uber driver from Nolanville reported missing on April 11, was found dead, according to the family.

No foul play is suspected, the family said in a Facebook post.

The Nolanville Police Department is working alongside the Austin Police Department to investigate a missing persons case.

The family of 39-year-old Ernest Anderson from Nolanville said he was last seen Thursday around midnight in Del Valle.

”It’s just a bunch of emotions, it’s up, it’s down, it’s just a lot,” Ernest’s sister Laronda Anderson told KWTX.

The night of his disappearance, Ernest, who’s an Uber driver, was in Del Valle at his cousin’s house when he allegedly left to pick up a rider.

The Nolanville Police Department is working with Uber to try and get ahold of Ernest’s cell phone data from his alleged last rider pickup.

“You try to stay positive and laugh and just say he’s going to walk through this door, but then you think maybe he’s not going to walk through this door,” Laronda said.

Ernest was last seen driving his black Mitsubishi Outlander with the license plate JWG2606.

”His debit card was being used at various places, food stops and even HEB in the Austin-area,” Laronda said.

Neither Nolanville Police nor his family are sure if Ernest was actually going to pick up a rider. However, his sister said that’s what he told his cousin the night of his disappearance.

”We haven’t been able to confirm with Uber, because they won’t give us access to his account, so we don’t know the specific details as to the time the call came in and if he completed the call,” Laronda said.

The Anderson family encourages anyone with information to reach out to the Nolanville Police Department.

”Just overall, we’re a very tight knit family, we’re always in sync with each other,” Laronda said. “We know where we’re going to be. No one goes days without reaching out or talking to somebody.”

The Anderson family will be meeting up in Austin this Thursday to organize a search party. They aren’t sure where Ernest was heading from his cousin’s house, but they plan on looking around Riverside Drive where his debit card was used.
