‘We don’t wish this on nobody’: Balloon release honors late Temple father who went missing

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Close to 100 friends and family members took to Miller Park to remember 20-year-old Amarioon Moore on Sunday. The Temple High alumnus was recently reported missing but later found dead.

”Amarioon was a fun loving, very caring and loving individual,” Amarioon’s aunt Twyla Shannon said.

Lots of hugs were shared and tears shed at the celebration of life honoring a man who was born and raised in Temple.

”The reason why we chose the skate park was because he was a big skater as well,” Twyla said.

Some sported shirts with #LLAM or Long Live Amarioon Moore.

”It’s still emotional,” Amarioon’s uncle Jackie Shannon said. “It’s like why would you take an innocent life the way you did.”

Amarioon was last seen at a family gathering on March 30. Less than two weeks later on April 12 his body was found in North Temple.

“Frustration, confusion, it was just a huge mixture of emotions,” Twyla said.

On Sunday a sea of silver, blue and black balloons, Amarioon’s favorite colors, filled Miller Park.

”I was going to say he was a Dallas Cowboy fan,” Jackie said. “We used to call him #88 because he kind of reminded us of CeeDee Lamb.”

Amarioon leaves behind his 1-year-old son Amarioon Jr. and his girlfriend Elena Brumet.

”We always did stuff together,” Brumet said. “We would go on walks and we would always do stuff with AJ. He was the best dad.”

Questions still linger about what happened to Amarioon and his family hopes to get some answers soon.

”We don’t wish this on nobody’s child to be done like this and we pray and hope that anyone knows any information please step up,” Jackie said. “You wouldn’t want to be on the other side of this.”
