9-year-old dies riding bike after being hit by truck in crosswalk, authorities say

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVLY/Gray News) - Minnesota authorities say a 9-year-old boy died on Thursday in a crash involving a truck.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the child was hit by a 2018 Mack 700 truck while he was in a crosswalk riding his bike at the intersection of 40th Avenue and 14th Street that afternoon.

The truck was a City of Moorhead Public Works vehicle.

Authorities said no criminal charges have been filed at this point against the truck driver.

The Minnesota State Patrol will be the investigating agency.
