Devin Fry is a digital news leader and reporter based in Fargo, North Dakota. Originally from Salcha, Alaska, Devin has been telling stories in local news since 2017 and joined the Valley News Live team in July 2019, where he now focuses on shaping and growing digital coverage across the Red River Valley and beyond.
Devin covers a wide range of community-impacting topics, including breaking crime and public safety, courts and justice, local government and elections, and major regional issues that matter to readers every day. His work is rooted in clear, factual reporting, and he believes local journalism is at its best when it is fast, accurate, and accessible.
In addition to reporting, Devin helps manage digital strategy and audience engagement across Valley News Live’s online and social platforms. Before focusing on digital, he worked as a reporter and sports director in local television, building a strong foundation in multimedia storytelling.
A graduate of Mayville State University, Devin was nominated for a Midwest Regional Emmy in 2024 and earned an Alaska Broadcasters Award for sports coverage in 2019. Outside of the newsroom, he’s a husband and father who still roots for his Alaska teams and enjoys bringing a regional perspective to his work.
