JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN/Gray News) - Five firefighters were injured in a major fire that tore through a North Carolina furniture store on Wednesday.
The fire was reported in the Furniture Plus warehouse in Jacksonville. It then spread to the store itself, as smoke was pouring out of the front of the building.
Part of the roof collapsed in the blaze.
Five firefighters were injured, according to a city spokesperson. All but one had been treated and released by the next evening.
Furniture Plus’ website says it’s been family-owned since 1978 and that its store is 30,000 square feet. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
