Travis L. Brown covers Texas A&M athletics for KBTX, with more than a decade-long career in sports journalism around the state of Texas.
He is the 2024 Football Writer's Association of America's national co-beat writer of the year and three-time Celeste Williams Star Sportswriter of the Year award winner, given by the Texas Managing Editors Association. Brown has placed 22 times for both writing and video work in the TMEA's yearly contest. Brown is also a four-time individual award winner in the Associated Press Sports Editor's yearly contest, including fourth in beat writing nationally for work in 2023, and an award winner for game story writing from the FWAA.
Brown is a voter for 11 national college football awards, including the Heisman Trophy, and is a member of the FWAA's All-American Committee.
Prior to KBTX, Brown spent eight years covering the Aggies with The Bryan-College Station Eagle. He began his career on the high school sports beat at ESPNDallas.com, then moving on to cover TCU and the Dallas Stars for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
He is a 2010 graduate of the TCU Schieffer School of Journalism, earning a bachelor's degree in news/editorial journalism.
